Chapter 013

Weeks went by and their bantering didn't stop. Jeff had even lost count. There was no hope of them ever getting along. And they were both fine about that. Or so, they thought.

Rhoda glared at her husband as he descended down the stairs in his business suit with his suitcase in one hand. He did not have his tie tied, and she would have helped him out if he was his wife. But unfortunately, she wasn't. That was something she would have loved to help her husband with if she had married for love. If she hadn't found herself marrying an asshole.

She might have even considered helping him if they got along quite well, but no. So, it was not necessary. They were not close to the extent of helping him with something like that. Not even close to the extent of giving him breakfast, lunch or dinner. They were not even close enough to exchange numbers.

At least, they knew each other's names.
