"Rhoda?"

She said nothing even though it was not oblivious to them that she heard all that they said. She only looked from Jeff to his father, then back to her husband. She made an attempt to start walking out of their sight into her room, but stopped abruptly when her father-in-law talked.

"Why would you glare like that? I wasn't entirely wrong."

That made her more furious. She turned and walked closer to him to give him a piece of her mind. He needed to hear it, but before she could say anything, her husband beat her to it.

"You've gone too far, dad. You should take your leave before I change my mind." He was already furious. His father kept giving him surprises after another.

"Jeff!"

"Leave. Please " He was already fuming with seeing his ex-girlfriend with him and now he had to do this. He didn't want to do anything to embarrass his father but that would only be possible if he respected himself and walked out while he was still being patient.
