HIS POWER

He could sweep her off her feet with that smile. His deep sexy voice could paralyze her and his hand being placed around her waist made her body shivered with pleaser. She had no idea why a total stranger had such an effect on her.

Alexander released her, spun her around to meet his eyes, “You better not fuck this up.” He said with a smile. He liked the reaction she gave him in response.  The expression she made, he found it fascinating.

He led her to the dining table and pulled out the chair. "Play along if you want to live." He whispered in her ear.

She felt the cold wind hit her back as soon as he removed his hand and shivers down her spine, live? This was crazy. What exactly did he meant by play along if you want to live? She didn't want to find out what he meant. She wanted to do as he commanded. She valued her life.

He sat next to her with a smile, "This is Siana Jones." He said gazing into his father’s eyes still smiling.

Awkwardness spread across her face mixed with confusion. She smiled as she turned to the elderly man on the other side of the table. She could tell that something was going on between the two men.

"Nice to meet you-" she stopped hoping he would complete her sentence by saying his name.

"Miguel, David Miguel," he said getting up from the table. This was really awkward. Siana prayed it would be over quickly so that she could speak to Alexander. If she could ask him the real reason why she was there and if she could leave.

Alexander and Mr. Miguel exited the dining room and went into the office with the door opened, leaving Siana at the table with a glass of wine in her hand. She took deep long sips as she watched their lips trying to make out the words.

Minutes passed and empty bottles were lying in front of Siana. She was bored out of her mind patiently waiting on their conversation to end, a conversation that seemed like it was going on for hours and would go on even longer. This was the worst dinner she'd ever had.

Looking down at her watch she sighed, "How much longer will this take," She asked herself.

The night came down on her heavily, she was dying to sleep it had already passed her bed time. She was an organized freak. Never had twelve P.M caught her up on a work night. She glanced up to the door and met his eyes, glaring into her soul. What was with that look? She'd seen that very same look before, on the first night they'd met, that look was buried deep in her memory. She could recognize it anywhere. She wanted to know if that was the look she'd receive everyday if she agreed to stay by his side. She lowered her head feeling intimidated by his murderous eyes.

“Seems like Miss Jones have had enough," Mr. Miguel said looking over to her, "It was lovely seeing you again.” He said hands folded behind his back and a dainty smile.

Those words ran through Siana's mind. What did he meant by seeing again? Siana didn't remember seeing him before. This was the first time she'd ever laid eyes on him.

“Ah, it was lovely meeting you sir.” He laughed at her quick winded respond.

Siana was relieved. She was finally going to get a one and one conversation with Alexander. She could finally understand what was happening, she could get an explanation from the top, from the moment she'd first met him.

Her eyes followed him as he escorted his father to the door then back at the table. Alexander was having mixed feelings looking into her eyes, he wondered if buying her was a good idea, he wondered if she could be of any use to him. The conversation with his father earlier had him on the edge of flipping out.

"Why am I here?" Siana asked getting up from the table with shaky movements. "Why did you choose me to be you’re wife?” She asked making her way up to him with stumbling steps, "Why can’t you just find someone else to marry?” she asked her final question standing before him looking up in his face.

He looked at her and laughed. He knew the words that were at the tip of his tongue would damage her but he wanted a way to release what he’d been bottling up.

“You’re not special. You’re just my second choice. If I had a better chance of getting out of marriage, you wouldn’t be here,” he said eyeing her up and down, “Why did she have to choose a virgin that acts like a hoe?” he asked himself out loud still eyeing her up and down. “How can this be wife material?” he said pushing her out of his way.

Those words sunk threw her, they hurt. What did he know about her? How could he tell if she special or not? How could he call her a hoe? Did he even know the definition of a hoe?

“Asshole…. I was just asking you to terminate the contract…. That’s all I wanted,” anger plastered over her face, “and you’re being such a bitch!” she flipped out at him.

An annoyed look spread across his face, he hated whenever persons stepped out of line, he hated whenever persons disrespected him.

“You should watch your mouth from now on, got that?” he asked with his murderous glare.

She didn’t care what he said, she hated being there. She skipped through her thoughts wondering why she was playing along. She wasn’t an actress so why act?

“I’m done playing along with you’re stupid games.” She said and walked off. She had finally gotten back her senses, she didn’t belong there, and so there was no reason to stay.

“You’re pathetic!” He shouted laughing “Do you think this is what I wanted?” his anger was growing rapidly. He didn’t want to touch that topic. He just wanted to continue the bloodshed, money making and nights out with his friends. His last desire would to get married.

“Fuck you!” Siana shouted heading to the door with weak shaky steps.

Those words burned threw him, unleashing the devil in him. He wanted to rip her apart. He wanted her to understand how powerful he was, how much danger she was messing around with.

He grabbed her hand, pulled her back and pinned her down on the table “I told you to watch your mouth. Didn’t I?” He asked in rage.
