Achilles’ Point of View:

“You hurt yourself?” Her voice quivered as she uttered the words looking in my eyes.

Those words from her made me shiver back in response and my heart rate elevated. No, she can not know, right? I can’t let her know about this. She had no proof anyway.

“What?” I asked back and chuckled. “You hit your head?”

“I might be bad at remembering stuff but I’m not stupid, Achilles,” She took a step toward me.

“So just because I have a lighter laying around at my place, I hurt myself?” I laughed again. “That’s the circumstantial evidence that even a local court won’t accept.”

“Then I might be lucky it’s not a court,” She came over to me. “Tell me the truth, please.”

“I already did,” I exhaled. “That’s bullshit.”

“Really? So let me state the very obvious reasons I am reaching this conclusion and if you can contradict them then I’ll believe you.”

“Okay.”
