Chapter 82

Jameson’s hands tightened around the steering wheel.

Subconsciously, he spotted Sally’s innocent and pure eyes in the rearview window.

In the end, he bit his lip and turned the car around. “I know a cake shop.”

The car turned snaked all around the place before finally stopping at the side of an alley in the Old Town area.

Jameson pointed to an old sign that said “Little Swan Pastries” and said lightly, “Go on. His sister always bought cakes for him here.”

“Mhm!”

Sally nodded and got out of the car with her backpack on. Then, she ran quickly toward the cake shop.

Leaning back against the driver’s seat, Jameson rolled down the window and lit a cigarette for himself.

Through the smoke, he saw the girl in jeans and a white T-shirt open the cake shop’s worn-out door.

It was as though he was watching her push open the heart Elijah had sealed for so long.

A pleased smile spread across the man’s face.

The butler was right. Sally was indeed good medicine for Elijah.
