I was very low-spirited. The thought of Richard leaving today weighed down on me. I had told him the previous night that I wanted to go horse racing with him and James this morning, and he had agreed.

I just wanted more of him; I wanted more memories to cling onto while he was away. He had already had his bath and was waiting for me to do the same.

As soon as I was done, he gave me a pair of cowboy shoes to wear. I tried them on and glanced up at him in surprise.

"They fit perfectly," I smiled, knowing that they were made just for me.

"I knew one day I would be taking you horse racing, so I had one made for you," he smiled as he wore his own and got up to his feet.

Extending his hand towards me, he asked, "Shall we?"

I giggled and held onto his hand. I wanted to cherish every moment I spent with him; I wanted to have enough to reminisce over in the next two weeks. He would leave by noon, at least by 2 pm. It was just 7 am, so we had a few hours to spend together.
