Truly in a den of wolves

The moment Ray saw that glint of violet instead of the deep green he shattered into bats, out of the thousand eyes he is capable of seeing through now he realised Tala wasn't herself after all, those eyes didn't fit her, the demeanor as well.

"What's wrong? Shift!" Elaine yelled watching the bats.

"I need to see him remember!? He's now bats not a single body!" Saffira yelled.

"Curses! Just blast him then!" Elaine yelled and threw a sphere of lightning, it exploded with a crack sending bats scattering and tumbling, but Ray was barely hurt, he took his swarm back and disappeared around a corner.

"Keep hitting the swarm! He can't maintain it forever!" Shelai screamed as they were in hot pursuit of the swarm casting spells of all kinds.

Explosions and flying debris blew everywhere, the swarm split mostly to avoid the incoming rounds but the collateral destruction still had effect.
