The pack doctor arrived, and everywhere was crowded along the walkway, waiting on the outcome of his check with Nancy. I became very anxious and frightened. Avalor didn't even look at me twice. All that mattered to him was Nancy and his unborn pup.

A few minutes later, the pack doctor came out with his white rope and a pair of stethoscopes in his hand.

"Did she get into a fight with anyone?"

All gazes fell on me, and my face remained glued to the ground. Fear swelled inside me, and the doctor's words caused my entire body to tremble.

"Yes, Doctor!" I raised my head and snapped one of the maids' servants to respond to the pack doctor, who glared dangerously at me.
