Chapter 17: Forget the Lycan prince

'If you think you can say that just to trick me and make me fall for you, ha! You're not going to make it.'

Catrina shouts inwardly.

"Are you alright?" Carlo questioned her while he carefully examined her appearance to ensure that she did not have any of the wounds or bruises from what Morea had done to her this afternoon.

If there had been even the slightest cut on her skin, Carlo would never have known what he was capable of doing to the Beta family.

"I'm fine. Stop staring at me like that." Catrina rebuked him fiercely in the hopes that he would take his gaze off of her.

Carlo let out a little laugh.

"You never like it when I stare like that, Catrina?"

Of course, she didn't like it. That look from him, even though several years had passed, had not changed. It brought back memories of the better times before her life became so fraught with anguish.

And Catrina wasn't really pleased thinking about it. Because she knew that it would always make her vulnerable and powerless. She
