55. Charlotte Speaks

Dante's POV

"Do you realize the gravity of your words?" I asked slowly, my eyes fixed on her creased brows.

"Yes, King Dante and I also know I said nothing wrong. It's the truth..."

"Quiet!" I roared, stepping toward her.

This was not the Charlotte I knew. It was somebody else entirely.

I was able to shut her up, watching her pant heavily.

"Ben, go back to the room," she said to the boy, who sat watching us both.

"But mum, I'm not done eating..." Ben retorted, my eyes still fixed on Charlotte.

"I said go to the room!" she yelled again.

This time, he got up grudgingly, stamping his feet on the floor and running out of the dining.

"You haven't changed Dante. You're still the beast you've always been. I'm so sorry for poor Athena. When she finally finds out about your true nature..."

Before she completed are words, I choked her neck tightly, with gritting teeth,

"You know nothing about me and you keep her name out of your mouth... you slut," I warned, fastening my grip until she began
