Chapter 23

"I'm not twenty-one anymore, you can't hit me," Justin said and pushed his hands away.

"If only you had been more of a husband to your wife, then she wouldn't be in the hospital there with a brain tumor that is going to kill her in few months," Justin yelled and walked out. 

Valerie was not far from the hallway so she heard and saw all that transpired between them both although Justin who was storming out didn't see her. She had been curious so she had gone to eavesdrop on their conversation. She quickly returned to her seat and while they waited for Justin and Mr. Smith to get back, she wondered if that was what Mr. Smith meant by they were not fond of each other.

Mr. Smith came back soon afterward without Justin so he made an excuse that Justin had an urgent meeting to attend to.
