Everything is set and as dad told us, it was easy to brief everyone about the plan because Dr. Jhero is not in the facility tomorrow. He even bid a bye to us and told us he is meeting the world leaders who agree with his plan, so they could start conquering the world since each country's population is now ranging from billion to just hundred thousand to millions. I know it was to tell us to stop trying to plot a plan against him because he's already moving, still, we would try.
There were times that I ask myself, why would Dr. Jhero play a game with us like these? He has his own medical team who could work for the antidote or a computer and hacking team to make another software that'd control his parasites, but why us? Richforte Medical Team of Richforte Memorial Hospital from Philadelphia, USA. If it is for the expertise of our team, okay, that's given. Richforte family excels in medics after all, but still.
And then after I found out everything a
December 22, 2050 - CREF, Wolfe Creek Crater, Western Australia We are currently having our coffee break for this day, and as usual, we were sitting all together at one table since there are only a few of us remained, and then some of us were in Team A. As expected, Team A mostly consists of military than doctors since only a few of us in the medical team knows a lot about computers, mostly those who shifted from IT course to medical practice back in college. As we sip on our teas, some were sipping coffee, we tried hard to suppress ourselves from talking about our insights and reactions to Dr. Jhero's impromptu visit for the second time this week. This time, Sean knows he was coming so he came into the lab to meet him and they shared a conversation. And though I didn't hear them, I know Dr. Jhero was mocking Sean because he doesn't have a choice but to follow whatever he wants, and Sean is good to act like Dr. Jhero's words were affecting him and his ego
My arms drop at my side as I turn on my heels to see Dr. Jhero, as usual, with his mischievous smirk. From my peripheral vision, I can see some taking quick glances at us we stand across one another. I didn't smile, nor bowed my head to greet him as he instructed us to do. That only made his smirk widens. "Do you know that curiosity kills the cat?" he asks again when I didn't say anything. I raised a brow, "Why? Would you kill me?" He chuckles, "Why? Are you a cat, Dr. Hawl?" "No, I'm not," I answer. "Ah, feisty. I like it." He moves and started to circle me, looking at me from head to toe and back again, with malice in his eyes and I clench my fist. Seeing that, his smirk widens even more, and he walks closer to me until he was just an inch away from me, his mouth so near in my neck and I feel goosebumps as his breath hits my skin. "You know what? I don't know why do you a
Lawrence was indeed a great help to them. Because of him, they got more to know about Dr. Jhero's plans and Dr. Jhero himself, and the Colleti family. Everything that Lawrence told them has proof stored on a hard drive, and they will use it against Dr. Jhero when the time comes. The boy even has a copy of the parasite data file. When their conversation turns to Alden whose story about the street children was confirmed by Lawrence, the boy's reaction was a mixture of sadness and rage, a sign that he and Alden have shared a lot of memories and that they were good friends. "But don't worry about your friend," Dr. Sean Richforte says when he saw Lawrence's face. "We can still save him. We are developing a software that will tap in on the one that was stored in Dr. Jhero's head that controls the parasite, and you could help a lot. Help us develop this one successfully and we will save your friend, and the rest of the remaining population in the world."
The speakers have activated again and the annoying electronic voice of a woman came, telling us to go to the main lobby. And I was expecting for the electronic woman to repeat her words as if we didn't hear it once, as it always does but then Dr. Jhero's voice came, fury was evident on it. "Fools! Go to the main lobby now and all of you will feel my wrath! Do you think I wouldn't know you are trying to fool me by making a fake antidote and creating another software to control my parasites?! Fuck you all!" I shuddered as my ears hurt when his voice echoes so loud through the speakers, the others wince as well. When the speakers died, all of us look into one another, as we started to move. Nervousness started to take in, I started to tremble but I bite my lips. "You can't let nervousness eat you up this time, Rosella." I reminded myself. And the other me replies, "But he knows! He found out and now he is mad!"
All of us turned from where the voice came from, and everyone's eyes widen when we saw who it was. Dr. Jhero froze in his place and just like us, his eyes widen, surprise was evident on his face, while the man who owns the voice that causes his surprise stands firmly on one spot, looking at him sternly, authority radiating through him. Standing just a few meters away from us is General Silvester Gabriel Richforte Sr., Sean's father, the former chairman of Richforte Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Jhero's college best friend. Behind him is a battalion of the US armed forces, standing, waiting for an order. And standing just beside him is another version of him and Sean, though this one looks older than Sean but younger than dad. And then it hit me. He is General Brigadier Silvester Gabriel Richforte Jr., the firstborn, and eldest, Sean's brother. Realization hits me as a mixture of relief and nervousness floods in me. "Dad, brother," Sean mu
Sean Gabriel Richforte's Point of View If someone will tell me way back that I will be in a situation wherein the world's population is in danger because a crazy doctor creates a parasite that turns people into a zombie, I would probably shake my head, and tell that person is insane. Zombie was just fiction to us, a creature created fictionally, commonly used for Sci-fi books and movies, to gain reads, views, and to add entertainment and spice to the plot. Well, that was before. Because now, the zombies became true and we are experiencing it. Thing is, those who were once close and so dear to us became one, and it was hard to witness it, knowing that anytime, you need to hurt them or even kill them or else they'll be the one to do it to you. I didn't think that this time will come, wherein the world's future is in our hands, and we need to make certain sacrifices to ensure the future. "You are wasting time creating another soft
Sean Gabriel Richforte's Point of View "To delete the main server, you have to make it explode, until the last pieces of it turn to ashes." And that's what exactly we will do, make the main server explode. But as he'd said, certain sacrifices have to be made, and those include lives, and one of those lives includes mine for I am more than willing to sacrifice if it means to ensure the world's future. "No, Sean! Are you out of your mind?!" Of course, my Rosella will not and will never agree with my decision, but she has to understand that I have to do this. I know she's probably thinking that I am being selfish here, not thinking of her feelings if something bad happens to me. But then again, I know her too well. I know she will feel devasted, but she would move on eventually. And she will be one of those people who will work hard to help Earth recover again. The plan is simple, yet full of sacrifices. According to
Rosella Marie Hawl's Point of View The feeling of excitement, hope, and fear fills the room as dad announces our departure from the facility. They have planned everything, and they know that Dr. Jhero is hiding right now, still planning for his next moves, and they used it to bring us out of this facility. "I just hope this will all be over, for real! I can't wait to come back to my family." "And let us pray for a safe trip back home, as well as our families." Everyone is getting ready to go while I didn't move even a single muscle, knowing what Sean has on his mind. And I couldn't let him do that, although I know I couldn't do anything about it. "Rosella," I came back to my senses when I felt a hand on my shoulder. When I look up, I saw Gabriel, Sean's brother. He has this small smile on his lips while looking at me, and I know he has an idea of what I am thinking right now. He motions his head in a
