Edge of death.

"I know a place downtown where we can both go and get a polygraph test." I stated emphatically as soon as I stepped out of the hospital facility.

Arthur is silent as he stares at me. He was quite concerned about me, and I don't blame him; if I were him, I would have been concerned as well.

I arched my brows slightly as I stared at Arthur, snapping my fingers in front of him. "What's the deal with your sudden frown?" I inquired because I couldn't bear looking at his gloomy features any longer.

Arthur breathed and leaned back, his gaze fixed on the sky.

'Is he attempting to cry? And why do I get the bizarre impression that he's holding his tears back in his eyes?'

I have a lot of thoughts racing through my head right now, and I'm not sure where to begin.
