**The Past** (Part 4)

“Mom, Dad, I’m just going to go see Arkie in his cage. I’m just going to feed him first,” Freya said.

“Alright, daughter. Wait until Arkie finishes eating, or else another dog will fight him. I’ll just fix things here in the kitchen,” Rhea said.

“Alright, mother.” Freya quickly hugged Ramil who was sitting on the chair. “Dad, do you want to go out with me?” Freya asked, smiling.

“No, I’ll just be here. I miss looking at your mother.” He winked at Rhea who now couldn’t paint her face because of his cheesy lines.

“Daddy is really … very sweet,” Freya said with a laugh before she ran out of their house. She looked at the door of Josefina’s house. Her head tilted slightly to the right. “It’s surprising. Miss Josie left their door open,” she whispered. “Maybe they just forgot to close.” She walked to the kennel of her dog, Arkie.

Jackson quickly poured the gas he found on Josefina’s kitchen utensils.

“I’m just going to scare dad’s mistress and then I’m going home.
