Chapter 37 A Little Disappointment

Neither of them spoke on the way home.

After they got back, Amos Granger went straight upstairs. When Eudora George passed by his study, she heard Amos talking about Everpeace.

She panicked and pushed the door open.

"Mr. Granger, I won't resign," she cried.

Amos was startled. He turned back to the phone and said, "Go and do it!" Then he hung up.

Just as he was about to ask her why, she pounced on him without hesitation and hugged his waist from behind.

"Mr. Granger, I was wrong. I know that I shouldn't be angry, and I have no right to ask for anything. However, this job is my only hope, and you can't let me leave Everpeace."

Amos frowned. "Do you really want to stay in Everpeace?"

"Yes!" Eudora nodded. "I will be separated from you one day. I can't put myself in another precarious situation like when I was with the Meyer family. Because when you leave, I will have nothing left."
