Erin’s POV
“Gavin and I are just friends,” I assured Seth, taking another bite of my food, although, at that point, I wasn’t so hungry anymore.
“Does he know that?” Seth asked, raising his brows.
Who was he to decide what kind of relationship I had with Gavin? This wasn’t fair of him to put me on the spot like this.
I pressed my lips firmly together and folded my arms across my chest.
“Yes,” I answered firmly. “He knows that. I’m not here to step on any toes or become the Luna. I don’t want to be a Luna. I just want to be myself.”
“Well, if that’s how you feel then we don’t have any issues.”
Any issues? Who the hell did he think he was?
I pushed my plate away from me and stood to my feet; I no longer wanted to entertain this conversation. He didn’t say anything when I left the room, but I co
Gavin’s POVGavin couldn’t believe what he had just heard.Erin was still breathing heavily after their intimate moment when he pulled away from her. She stared up at him with such seriousness and regret on her face.“What?” He asked, trying to keep his wolf under control. Was she actually being serious? She left him because of her father? What did that even mean?“My father threatened your future…” she explained, her face growing red as she stared down at her hands. “He told me if I didn’t leave you, then he would revoke your scholarship.”“For college?” Gavin asked, narrowing his eyes at her. “You lead me to believe you left me because I was poor.”“I didn’t know how else to end things,” she explained. She met his eyes, and he could see the sadness lingering within them. “I&rsqu
Gavin’s POVThe hospital is on fire!“How bad is it?” Gavin asked, rushing out of his office and toward the front entrance of the packhouse.“It’s burning to a crumble,” Beta Seth explained, following closely behind him. “They are trying everything they can to put it out, but it seems like it won’t die.”“And the patients? What about the hospital staff?”“Some got out,” Seth said just as Gavin reached his car. Gavin snapped a look at his Beta, urging him to continue. “Most did not.”Gavin didn’t have the time to drive to the hospital; instead, he shifted into his wolf form and sprinted through the crowded streets of his town. He could already smell the burning of the building in the distance. The smoke grew intense the closer he got to the hospital. The dark clouds collected in the sky as the smoke got thicker. He could hear the screaming of those still inside the building; his heart instantly sunk into his stomach. There was no way he was going to be able to get in there and save eve
Gavin’s POVThe rain was quick but extremely effective. As soon as it cleared, Gavin was ordering the fire and police department to get inside the building and get everybody out.Just before Gavin ran inside himself, he spotted Erin from across the scene. She was standing in a quiet and secluded area, staring up at the sky. He glanced upward as well, watching as the clouds lightened and the sun returned, warming, and drying the grounds. He glanced back at Erin; he felt a fondness for her at that moment. Her powers were incredibly amazing, and he found himself in awe.She was glorious and beautiful; even more so now than she was all those years ago.How could he have treated her so cruelly earlier? His wolf was right; he shouldn’t have been so harsh against her. It was obvious the breakup affected her as well. She thought she was doing him a favor; doing what was right to secure his future. She was young and didn’t know any better. She didn’t know how deeply he was in love with her. Ho
Third Person POVMany years ago, there were 3 organizations that were developed. The first organization created was the Killers. They are wolves and humans that developed abilities once they turned 18 years of age.Not all that have these abilities were bad, but many grew worse over time. They used their abilities to torment those who caused them to harm or treated them poorly during their youth. They used their abilities for revenge. However, there were some with abilities that only wanted to use their powers for good. They wanted to protect those without abilities from those with abilities who wish them harm. That was when the Moonshadow organization came to be.A secret organization sought to claim world peace and protect the world from all things evil. The Moonshadow knows all and sees all; to be a member, you have to continuously be good. You won’t find them; they will find you.Once they find you and make you an offer, you can choose to deny their request or join them. Then ther
Erin’s POV“Yes, of course,” I said, plastering a smile on my face and trying to not seem uneasy. The man that stood before me was clearly an Alpha, but I didn’t recognize him. He appeared to be strong and fierce though, certainly not as strong, and fierce as Gavin. His eyes were so dark that they were practically black. He wasn’t bad to look at; in fact, he was kind of handsome, but he gave me an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach that I tried to swallow down and ignore.I brought this man to a table on the far side of the room. He took a seat and crossed his leg over his other one, leaning back in his seat, he peered up at me.“What’s your special for this afternoon?” He asked; his tone was almost mocking, and I felt he was making fun of me.But I couldn’t be too sure.He didn’t even know me… so why would he be making fun of me?“Our special this evening is lobster bisk,” I answered.“I’ll take a bowl of your finest lobster bisk,” he replied with a glimmer of humor in his eyes.
Erin’s POVStaring at the note, I was in disbelief. Was he talking about my abilities to manipulate water and my former member status with the Moonshadow organization?I had never spoken to Bane up until today, so how would he know that information about me? My heart was beating rapidly in my chest as I stared at the note.I quickly shoved it into my apron pocket and finished cleaning his table. We were close to closing and once I was able to get out of work, my first thought was to call Henry. He would know exactly how Bane would find out such information and who he was.He was the only one I could trust to talk to, but I was also aware that he didn’t want to speak with me. Of course, I couldn’t say anything about this to Gavin because then I would have to tell him that I’m a part of the Moonshadow organization. What was I going to do?I swallowed my pride and grabbed my phone out of my locker in the back of the restaurant. Once I said my goodbyes to Kelsey, I headed toward my car, b
Gavin’s POVGavin’s entire body froze at Bane’s words. Bane only laughed from behind him. It was taking everything Gavin had to not tear his throat out with his wolf’s fangs. But he held himself back.“What do you know about her?” Gavin found himself asking, his tone was dark and threatening. There was a moment of pause while Bane thought about how to answer his question.“I know that she’s a dangerous individual and could get herself in a lot of trouble if she’s not careful,” Bane said, sounding almost bored.Gavin whipped around, baring his sharp teeth in Bane’s direction, his eyes flashing with anger. Bane didn’t look frightened by it though. He looked more excited than anything.“How long do expect to hide her?” Bane asked, turning away. “It won’t be long before she’s found out.”He was gone without another word, leaving Gavin alone with his thoughts.“You should have let me tear his throat out,” his wolf hissed furiously. “I could have taken care of the problem easily and quickly
Erin’s POVI was on lockdown, and there was nothing I was going to be able to do about it.I didn’t talk to Gavin for the rest of the night; once he put his foot down and ordered that I stayed inside the packhouse for the next unforeseen future, he disappeared into his study, leaving me alone to process his order. The gamma warriors were already standing guard at the door, watching my every move. Beta Seth was standing behind me, staring at me with a somber look in his eyes. A look I didn’t recognize coming from him.“I don’t like this any more than you do,” he said. “But he’s worried because Bane has gone crazy and is after something. He’s trying to protect you.”Gavin didn’t tell Seth the entire truth; that Bane was after me.“And you’re okay with that?” I asked, raising my brows. “With Alpha Gavin protecting me?”Bane frowned as he searched my face.“No,” he answered. “But he’s the Alpha and I can’t go against him. Neither can you.”“Can I have a minute so I can call my boss?” I as
