Chapter 21

When I reached home from work the next day, I saw Andrei sitting outside the house. He was holding one of his toy cars and was playing with it, but when he heard me, he hurriedly stood up. I automatically smiled. My son is very adorable.

"You're home! Let's go, Mommy! Let's go to Andres!" He excitedly said. My smile even widened with how excited he was. I know he still hasn't fully understood the concept of death yet, but I love how he always seems so excited when we’re about to visit his brother. Although there are times when I really get sad. I can’t help but think about what could’ve beens. For sure, these two will be the best of friends.

I can’t help but think about the what ifs.

"Where's grandpa and grandma?" I asked, changing the topic. Not doing so would probably just make me cry.

"They're inside!"

"Okay. I'll just change my clothes then we'll go," I said and he nodded. I hurriedly went inside the house and saw Mom and Dad sitting on the sofa.
