Belle's POV

"It's nothing Christian." I said immediately, sipping the wine to ease the burning sensation I felt in my throat. I wished I had seen him walk to us, it would have surely prevented this weird situation we were about to go into.

Christian continued to look at us and I was aware Bernard hated the sight of him just standing there.

"What are the both of you planning behind my back?" He asked again, focusing his attention on Bernard this time around.

"It's nothing, really." I replied again. "Are you done with everything? Can we leave now?"

"Why do you want to leave now? I just got here, Belle." Bernard said to me and I sighed at my selfishness.

"I just don't feel up to the event anymore. I need to rest my head." I replied.

''This is how you always are when you are hiding something." Christian said to me. "You always run away, Belle."

"Don't talk to me that way." I replied calmly, turning to make sure we were completely alone in the corner where the three of us stood.
