Chapter 37

Work started as a hassle I really didn't want to keep up with.

It felt like today was just another busy day where we had to be on our terms taking up to three orders at once. I managed to wake up on time and get to work before Mrs. Lane had my head. She had already queried me for the month and if it continued, she had threatened to deduct from my salary. I couldn't afford that because I still had bills to take care of.

We were short on groceries in the house and since Aaron was coming over we needed to restock. I had to support Kathy with this month's bills, so I couldn't afford that my salary was reduced because I was slacking.

As we continued to serve the customers they began to disperse to their destinations and the restaurants became free.

Bella and I were behind the counter as we made small talk together.
