Chapter 41: In the hospital

The cold white ceiling was what Mia could see when she woke up a few hours after passing out from exhaustion. She lay there for a few minutes until her mind cleared, then she remembered that Peter had just woken up. Mia immediately put her hands on the hospital bed and sat up, but because her body that had just woken up was still weak, her head was immediately dizzy.

Mia held her head and grimaced. Just then a man's voice spoke softly: "I'm awake."

Mia turns her head to the right, Peter wakes up and he's leaning against the bed, his face still white. She struggled to get up and got out of bed, walking over to him. She caressed his face: "Are you in pain?"

Peter laughed: "You're a man, having two injuries won't hurt. And you, listening to your brother say, you haven't eaten and haven't rested for two days, so you passed out, right?"
