Author's POV Grace reached the living room, slightly glaring at Adrian. "You're best friend is here to talk," she sassed, emphasizing on 'best friend' . Adrian sighed as he was not really in the mood to talk to him. He already knew why he was here and was sure that no one was going to like it. "Why is Ashton here?" Macy asked, confused, looking up at him. "I don't know," Adrian shrugged, "maybe some business." Pausing the movie, he got up after shifting Macy off him. "I'll be right back," both the girls nodded at him as he took his leave. "Why the hell are you here?" Adrian exclaimed in a low voice, "think before your act Ashton! Please!" Ashton felt a little hurt seeing his best friend acting so rudely to him, but then he knew he deserved all of this. "I had no other choice Ok! I had to see her," he pouted, acting innocent. Adrian rolled his eyes at his comment. "You just met her yesterday. Plus you know she isn't very fond of you. Then why do you keep irritating her?

Author's POV It didn't surprise Adrian when his office door opened suddenly and he heard shoes clicking against the wooden floor. Who else could it be other than his best friend? It was now like his routine to come everyday to his office just so he could bug him to get updates on Grace and see her face. But she ignored him at every chance she got, not even bothering to spare a glance at him. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Adrian sighed looking up from his laptop, "this time?" Ashton gave him a cheeky smile before inviting himself to sit on the chair. "I need to know a few things," Ashton answered. Adrian scowled at his response, not knowing what he was talking about. "That is?" He asked. Ashton pressed his lips in a straight line before fishing for a paper in his coat's pocket. He slipped out a folded paper and handed it over to Adrian without saying anything. Author's Pov Grace got lost in the starry sky that stole her breath with the shine the stars were sparkling with. She blew some air on her hot chocolate before taking a sip from it. She was in deep thoughts about someone. Someone she didn't want to think about very often but no matter what she did, her mind betrayed her and her thoughts lingered on that specific person. She sighed remembering what had happened earlier. There was no doubt that she loved the surprise and really appreciated the hard work which was put into it. But she didn't want it from the person who did it for her. More like she didn't expect it. She desperately wished it was from someone she liked too. Why was he doing all of this? Sure he had found out the truth of the situation for which he fired her. But why was he ready to give up his ego just to have her forgive him? Would Ashton Knight in his right mind do that? Grace's POV I stood in front of the building that I promised to never even look at the last time I walked out of. I hate you Ashton Knight for making me break my promise. If it was up to me, I would have rejected to even be in this project, if only I knew Ashton would pull this stunt. Reluctantly, I took some steps forward, finding myself standing in front of the glass door. The two security guards instantly bowed down to me slightly and one of them opened the gate for me. Grace's POV I took agonizingly slow steps to Ashton's office as I didn't want to see his face so soon. Why does he always have to bug me? Upon reaching his office, I gently knocked on the door that was answered with a soft 'come in'. Twisting the knob, I entered the quiet room. "You called me Mr Knight?" Ashton looked up from his laptop and nodded while pointing at the chair, asking me to sit. I obliged to the offer. "Update me on the project," he said while continuing to punch some keys on his laptop. I told him all that he needed to know. I informed him that Stephen had been a great source of help for the project as he had skillfully done all the tasks that were given to him. But as soon as those words left my mouth, I saw his jaw clenching and his fingers folding to form a tight clenched fist. Grace's POV My last encounter with Ashton was way more than weird. The way he acted, almost actually made me forgive him. I know it's all just an act. Then why does my heart say something else? Is he really sorry for what he did? But why should I consider his apologies? Grace's POV After I had called 911, the ambulances were sent immediately and the police came in time to do their job. One of the cops had addressed me to confirm if it was me who had called 911 and asked a few questions which I answered. He then handed me an extra umbrella they probably had and went on with taking care of the scene. Moved away from the scene, closer to my car to look at tha damage that had been done. That bonnet was completely trashed. This would surely cost a fortune. Especially since it was literally a brand new car Adrian had just bought for me. Grace's POV I felt my heart thudding against my ribcage as Ashton silently drove us back to his house. I was freaking confused. What the hell just happened in the past few minutes.
