After such a long time Emerald got a good night's sleep. She woke up when her phone started ringing. Her heart fell in the pit of her stomach when she did not find Sophie beside her. While talking on phone, she got up hurriedly and jogged down towards the kitchen.

That was the only place the kid could be found. And man! She was right.

When she was done with the call, she disconnected it and opened the kitchen door. She found Sophie talking to a guy who was leaning towards her baby chair. While Selina was preparing pancakes for the kid’s breakfast.

Entering the kitchen, Emerald frowned a little, "Sophie. You never fail to give me a heart attack." The moment she said that the guy straightened.

"Daniel!" She yelped with joy and walked to him for a hug, "When did you land here?"

He returned the hug and lifted Sophie in his arms, "I came straight from the airport. I was missing you two so much." He placed the child back in the baby chair after kissing her cheek.
