Irina

The front door dinged. It was for the delivery. Giving out 20-dollar tips to the men, I locked the door and headed to the dining area of the suite. Eyeing Alonzo's office, a voice in my head convinced me to knock him up.

I was taken aback by his obvious cold semblance upon meeting my eye, and the word vanished in my throat. I looked stupid holding the door, gazing hopefully at him.

“What's it?”

“Pizza and chicken wing is here. I'm hungry. Let's eat? I prepared ice and root beer.”

“Should I just bring it here? We can eat there?” I asked, gandering in the living room-like set-up on the west side of his office, the same space where the two of us had sex last night.

Alonzo staved off his eyes from me to the paper and chart in his hand. “This is an office, Irina. Do you think it's appropriate to have pizza, chicken wings, and root beer here?”

“I only asked because you don't mind it when I eat here with you while you work on your papers and patient's status reports.”

“I'm busy today,
