Chapter 57

“Ivory…” Jet said in a sickening sweet, soft voice. My heart dropped as my eyes instantly filled with tears.

“NO!” I yelled. “WHERE ARE THEY?” turning in circles, I looking around for someone to yell, ‘joking!’.

“Follow me.” I turned back around to see Colt jog down the street. I couldn’t even feel the pavement under me as I jogged beside him. Each block we went, I was frantically searching for any signs of my parents. Just something, anything really. Maybe a shoe or maybe they had on a jacket. It wasn’t until Colt stopped jogging that I saw a group of three men standing and looking down. My eyes traveled to that ground to see two people laying there… not moving.

“MOM! DAD!” I yelled as I started sprinting again.

“IVORY!” Jet called behind me. I didn’t stop, I couldn’t stop.

My legs somehow made it within six feet before I collapsed. Whoever the three people were, moved out of my way as I crawled to my parents. Cradling my mom’s head in my lap, the tears poured down my face.
Mrs. Smith
