“What’s going on?” Wade asked as he walked through my office door. “How did it go?”

“Good… bad. I mean, we got what we wanted, but it came at a price.” I was standing, looking out of my window at the forest below. My nerves were at an all-time high. Bouncing from foot to foot, my hands kept alternating between being crossed on my chest and resting on my hips.
