The bed was comfortable even though it was smaller than most he had been on in the past few years. It reminded him of the small rack type beds they had in the military. Having her so close to him was enough to keep his mind off much of everything else. Right now, he wanted to relish in the thoughts that he was having of all the things he wanted to do to and with her. Most of all, he wanted her to know she was it for him. This was it, and if it didn’t work out between them, he would remain alone with these memories of this time.

It was better than a dream. Mack had been left with many of those of the years though he could never share them with anyone else. Haven was the only woman he could never forget. The hurt and pain that her disappear
