Chapter 45

I opened my eyes even though my whole body still seemed numb and seemed to be being pulled back to sleep. I tried to move my right arm but something seemed to run into it.

I slightly lifted my head to peek at what it was. Auden's angelic face appeared on me as he slept. His hand was wrapped around my hand and arm as I bent down.

Even though my left arm was still emaciated with the injected dextrose I forced myself to lift it and reach for Auden's head.

The area under his eyes turned black. He looks so tired and restless.

When my palm touched his face, he woke up. At first his eyes were still wide, he rubbed it and looked at me.
