Hardin paid no attention to her, he got into his car reached for his phone in his pocket, and sent a message to Keir who he assumed was still waiting for him in the restaurant.

[Heading home, we can do this some other time.] He couldn't just stay chill right now, he needed to get home and process his thoughts.

The passenger door suddenly opened as June got in and sat down, he looked at June, surprised that she followed him. "June," he said, his voice low and menacing, "please, just get out of the car. We don't need to go back and forth on this, it's clear what you want."

June's eyes welled up with tears, maybe she had been too harsh with her words since Hardin came into her life but it was because she wasn't certain of his feelings or maybe she was just scared that she would never meet the standard of women in his life.
