Chapter 168

"Pequeña bebe?" Joaquin called her softly yet hesitantly. Hearing her name being called she raised her head and looked up at them.

"Y-Yes?" She asked him without any expression on her face. Her face was void of any emotion.

"I- I wanted to apologize to you." Joaquin said hesitantly not knowing how to meet her eyes after behaving so irrationally with her.

"I-It's okay Joa you didn't do anything wrong. You were right I was being selfish." she said and placed her head back on the table which made Joaquin to drown more in guilt.

He felt a lump in his throat not knowing what to say to her anymore. He had made her feel bad and low about her own self. He made her feel less worthy and the things she isn't. He kneeled down on the grass beside her and placed his big palm at her thigh softly making her flinch. She again raised her head and looked at him.
