He reached for my arm but I pulled it away from his grasp before we could touch.

I didn’t bother turning around to face him, I just kept walking. “Those foxes found me. It’s only a matter of time before they come again. I don’t plan on being around for that.”

I had to get away. Not just from the foxes, but from him.

I was in too deep, and I was just now learning that I didn’t know how to swim.

Cassar shouted at me, trying to pull me back.

I avoided his touch and jumped away from him. I don’t know what would happen if I felt that heat one more time.

Now that he knew I was the Silver Fox, I didn’t hide her. Any of her.

Most foxes’ fur changed colour depending on the season, but I never let my own.
