The steady sound of footsteps echoing from upstairs interrupted Haley's thoughts. She turned around and looked up to see Shane already dressed and descending the stairs.

He wore a black suit, exuding an air of elegance and nobility, with a handsome face tinged with a hint of aloofness, making people hesitant to approach easily. Meeting his deep, dark gaze, Haley's heart inexplicably trembled.

She didn't know what had come over her, but as Shane approached, her heartbeat began to uncontrollably quicken. It felt like a mischievous bunny hopping around in her chest.
