After a brief silence outside the door, Dean's cautious voice rang out, "Mr. Ford, Mr. Quinn has arrived. He's in the conference room."

Shane glanced at Haley with his eyes filled with apology. "Haley, I'll have the driver take you to school first. We can talk later this afternoon, okay?"

Haley quietly breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "Mr. Ford, go ahead and attend to your work. Don't let me delay you."

Shane reached out and ruffled Haley's hair before leaving.

Once he was gone, Dean entered and respectfully addressed Haley, "Madam, Mr. Ford asked me to escort you to school."

Haley snapped back to attention, standing up from the sofa. "Alright, thank you, Dean."
