Haley was drenched in cold sweat, her clothes soaked through, and her face streaked with tears.

She stared blankly at the ceiling and her eyes were filled with lingering fear. It took a long time for her breathing to steady.

Haley came back to her senses and turned her head to meet Shane's worried gaze. He gently smoothed her disheveled hair and asked nervously, "Had a nightmare? Are you okay?"
