Chapter 91 : On the Subject of Babies

"So, why am I here?" Mother asked as I placed her requested coffee in front of her.

She sipped it tentatively and frowned before putting it down and adding more sugar. I rolled my eyes as I watched her and settled into my seat, grabbing Sara's hand for her comfort and to keep me calm.

"This is about the baby," I said carefully.

Mother froze for a second before looking up with a serene smile. "So you're ready to talk about moving forward?"

Sara and I exchanged a look, and I couldn't help but smile, slightly smug. "Yeah, something like that."

Mother frowned at me, having caught the look between Sara and me. "What do you mean?"

"My doctor got back to me with the paternity results," I answered, causing her to roll her eyes.

"So you're ready to accept the truth?" she prodded, picking up her coffee and sipping it happily.

"He ran the test five separate times in five separate labs, and that's not my baby," I answered with a cold smile, my eyes locked on her face, ready
