"Alessia, could you go upstairs for me? I need to talk to Ezra." She whispered while pointing to Ezra.

"Ok, I'll be right there." I gave Ezra a small smile before getting up from my chair and walking towards the staircase.

I reached the top of the stairs and stood outside the bedroom door listening to their conversation.

"Mom, I told you that we can talk here and there. Is everything alright? Do you need anything from me?"

"Ezra, I'm sorry but I have to talk to you alone. Please excuse me." My mother said while she looked down sadly.

"Alright, I'll be going to the study then. Call me if you need anything." Ezra said before leaving the kitchen.
