CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE

"Stanley, I can't believe you are not saying anything over this matter" Lucy exclaimed, her frustration mounting. "Aren't you supposed to be on my side?I'm your wife, at least you should have help and find solutions to what is on ground. She shifted the child in her arms, looking into Stanley's face for response but he remained silent, his face impassive.

"You've been acting strange ever since Liam accused me of cheating on him. Is it that you don't trust me or what?" she asked, a mixture of sadness and hurt in her voice. "I thought you knew me better than Liam now. Why don't you want to speak up and defend me? If anyone doesn't trust me, at least you should?"

Ever since they left Liam's place, Stanley had been acting cold and distant. He wouldn't talk to her about what was bothering him, and he wouldn't even look her in the eye.
