When I saw how Sofiya reacted to Benita's chanting, I felt terrible guilt. It ate me up from the inside out. I must have been quick or I didn't do it right when I marked the paper. I marked her in fear of losing her and in anger at her sleeping with the man I had never got along with and never will. Benita knelt down and looked at her wound. And Pamela on the other side looked perplexed at the space which made Sofiya react ironically.

The two women looked at each other for a long time before they looked away.

Do you two have something you'd like to tell us? Vannea questioned them. Sofiya was the first person to nod in agreement. Her unusual response made me wonder about a lot of things.

Hey, guys, could you leave us alone for a minute? I would like to talk to her. Sofiya said this while looking at both Pamela and the empty space.

Sure, but you should change that shirt and put on something light that will hide that cut. Benita said yes. I agree, that should come first. Pamela co
