Emily carefully opened the cap of the dishwashing liquid in the kitchen and took a sniff.

Sure enough, the distinctive smell of sulfuric acid hit her nose.

Dishwashing liquid and concentrated sulfuric acid were both transparent, viscous liquids that looked the same on the surface.
