The Mess

An entire week had passed with her being cooped up in the apartment. Landon hadn’t returned up until now. Five days ago, she sent him a message asking for the time of his arrival, and in response to that, couple of hours later, he texted her ‘soon’.

Evelyn was desperate about his information, but the words of his rang clear in her mind. He didn’t want any trouble. His voice was cold and stern with no space for discussion.

She wasn’t the same as before. In these couple of years, her confidence skyrocketed, and she made a few friends too whom she had to leave behind to move here. She was now well-liked by people and knew how to amuse them.

But with Landon, it was different. There was a constant reminder in her head on how she didn’t deserve him. That’s why, she left him no more messages despite her concerns, afraid of being bothersome.
