Why Mirabel of all people?

Ivy was about to shut her eyes to savor the moment when she felt a strong hold on her shoulders. Before she could assimilate what was happening, Dillon pushed her away.

She struggled to keep her balance to avoid slipping but it was all futile. She stumbled and fell to the hard floor.

Although Mirabel and Jessica were shocked, they were quick to reveal malicious smiles.

Ivy sat on the floor and tears fell from her eyes with her lips clenched.

"You are indeed what they say you are," Dillon spoke up. His hoarse voice rang in the room.

Ivy was confused, her eyelids twitched as she tried to comprehend what might have gone wrong. Yet, she couldn't.

"What have I done?"

To stop Dillon from talking, Mirabel got up and hugged him from the back. She kissed his neck and placed her jaw on his shoulder.

"Don't stress yourself over her, husband. You are aware that you are still weak," She feigned to be worried. Her tiny voice was filled with concern.
