"What the hell, Nicholas?" I got off the bed as if my ass was on fire, distancing myself from him. I shook my head, making a sucking sound with my lips pressed together and my teeth closed.

"I saw him with my own eyes," Nicholas clarified, making me swipe a hand over my face.

"I felt so betrayed and just swore to never allow myself to feel the same way for any other woman. It worked out just fine for years until you came along." He draped his legs over the edge of the bed.

"I can't believe you'd stoop this low." I said, taking a step backwards when he got off the bed.

"What are you talking about?" He looked at me with his head slightly tilted, studying me, his brows raised in question. Nothing on his face gave out anything, but I wasn't about to let him fool me.
