Gabriella's POV
"What message?"
"Please kindly inform your Alpha that I was the one with him that night at the mask party. I am his mate, and he has mistaken me for my sister," I said to the Beta, but he burst into serious laughter."Why are you laughing?" I questioned and lost my boldness, looking down."You can't just walk in here and claim to be the Alpha's mate.""You have to believe me. I am not pretending at all. Everything I am saying is the truth. What would I gain from lying?" I questioned him politely. He took a deep breath and looked at me again. "Okay, fine. Sit here and wait while I inform the Alpha.""Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it.""Don't thank me yet," he said and headed into the main building.I looked around, and wow, his home is so beautiful and spacious. I guess life here will be great, and I won't be ridiculed by his people.I thought about Tracy. What if she comes in here and meets me? Wouldn't she be offended? I hope she doesn't come, and when I get home after meeting the Alpha, I am going to explain things to her. It's that simple.Jane sent a message via W******p, "Hi Gabby, I miss you already."
"I miss you too. How is Steve? Hope you both are having a good time?" I replied to her, a smile written all over my face.I guess Jane will be even happier when I tell her the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack is actually my mate, and we had a connection. Nah, I will exclude the intimate part.I got engaged in the conversation, and when the Beta returned, I put my phone back in my bag and stood up with high expectations."Sorry for keeping you waiting, Miss," he said to me."It's all good. Can I meet with him now? Where is he?" I questioned with a brief smile."I'm afraid you are not allowed to meet the Alpha.""What? If I may ask, why?""You dare ask why? When you came here lying and pretending to be his mate, why would you take such a move against your sister?""Please, this is just a little misunderstanding, and I promise you, I am not lying at all. Just let me see him. I wouldn't dare hurt my sister; I love her.""I don't need your explanation, Miss. Leave now, and a warning, you are not allowed to come here again.""Please, you have to believe me. I am not pretending. Everything I am saying is the truth.""You are hurting me." I was kicked out of the house. I know I have been humiliated several times, but being kicked out like trash is even more painful.I don't believe the sweet Alpha I met that night would do such a thing to me. He can't chase his mate out without even seeing me. I will clear up this misunderstanding by all means.I can't give up just yet. I need to find a way to get in and avoid being stopped by the Beta again. But this gate is just a barrier I need to break to get in. What will I do now?Luckily, I saw five cars about to enter the building, but they stopped the car and got out, approaching the gate. The same guy who opened up for me also opened the gate for them. After a few minutes, I realized they were allowed to go in after their cars were searched. This might be my only chance to get in; it seems the Moon Goddess must be on my side. I moved discreetly and slipped into the backseat of the last car. I just hope I won't end up dead in there. I heard footsteps close to the car I had entered. Closing my eyes in fear, I thought I would surely be discovered.
If news of this reaches my father, he might disown me. Fortunately, though, the people got into the car and drove it into the building's parking slot. Finally, I made it into the building without being seen. If a soothsayer were to tell me I'd have the audacity to do this, I definitely wouldn't believe it.
I waited for a few minutes, looking left and right to ensure no one was around. Once it was clear, I emerged and silently closed the car door. I entered the house and overheard the maids talking, "The meeting is still going on; it's time to serve those drinks."
Perfect timing. I suppose the Moon Goddess is still favoring me. Thank you so much, Moon Goddess. I blended in as a maid and joined them in the hall to serve drinks, standing by and waiting.
I couldn't keep my eyes off the Alpha. He was tall with blue eyes that lacked warmth. When he looked at me, I couldn't help but shiver. Glancing at his lips, I felt weird again, remembering the kiss. Why is my heart racing like this?
We served drinks to those present, and I personally served the Alpha his drink. My body shook with fear as I recalled rumors of him killing his father for power. What if this is a wrong move, and I end up dead?
"You, stay. Others, leave," he ordered, and the others departed.
"Who are you?" he inquired, leaving me frightened. I needed to calm down, to breathe. I can do this, I believe I can.
"My name is Gabriella, Alpha Aiden's daughter of the Silver Moon Pack," I replied, my eyes fixed on the ground, fingers tightly squeezed.
"You must be the girl pretending to be my mate, right? I thought I gave strict orders to my Beta to remove you."
"I can't leave without meeting you in person to correct this mistake. I was the girl with you at the masked party, your mate. We were both drunk, and you mistook me for my sister," I answered politely, hoping it would help my case.
"You are not my mate. Stop pretending and get out of here before I have you removed again," he said, his tone different from that night.
"...You know the truth. You can smell me. I am your mate," I tried to convince him, but he shattered my heart.
"Even if you were my mate, I wouldn't accept a useless omega as my Luna. I would reject you immediately," he declared, lazily toying with the glass in his hand.
I couldn't believe my mate would join in ridiculing me. My heart felt like it would stop. Struggling to make a sound, even a weak one, I managed to say, 'So you're rejecting me...'
"Yes, I, Nicklaus, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, reject you." As he spoke these words, his blue eyes locked onto mine, impatience evident in his gaze.
I stood dumbfounded, unable to reconcile the man before me with the one from that night.
Tears streamed down my face as I left immediately, realizing it was already dark outside, and thunder rumbled, intensifying my fear. I loathed lightning. I needed to find shelter before the rain began. Going to the Blood Moon Pack was pointless; they had already warned me twice. I suppose I'll stay on the street until— Damn it. A heavy downpour started, drenching me. But as I thought about the Alpha's words, my heartbreak deepened.
Why does everyone despise me? What have I done to deserve this treatment? All I want is love and care, but instead, I'm met with hatred, rebukes, and insults from everyone.
I should be worthy of being called a Luna. That jerk—lucky for him I'm not as powerful. I would've punched him hard in the face. I wish I could go back and stop myself from attending his birthday party, avoid getting drunk, and steer clear of sleeping with him.
Lightning struck again, and in my fear, I stumbled and fell, crying out as I twisted my ankle.
I wandered in the rain for hours, but there was no sign of a taxi, vehicle, or even a person. The rain washed away my tears, but I caught a cold instantly. Shivering and weakened, my legs gave out. I collapsed to the ground, his words echoing loudly, "Even if you are my mate, I will not accept a useless omega to be my Luna. I will reject you at once."
Gabriella’s POV I woke up the next morning with a cold, my clothes still soaked, and my hair drenched as well. Luckily, I spotted a taxi and immediately hailed it to head home. I stripped off my wet clothes, took a warm bath, and bundled up in thick garments to combat the cold that had settled in. I began sneezing as well. I suppose my father either didn't notice my absence in the house or he noticed and chose to ignore me. After all, his favorite daughter is marrying my mate. My cold worsened, causing me considerable discomfort. Fortunately, my sister entered my room, concern evident in her eyes. "Sis, you look so pale. What happened to you?" She moved towards me, inspecting my condition. "I got caught in the rain and I think I've caught a cold," I replied, still shivering beneath my blanket. "You silly girl, you know you're susceptible to colds when you get soaked. Why didn't you find shelter? You've worried me sick." "I'll be fine, sister. No need to worry. You should be gettin
Nicklaus's POV After the priest announced us as husband and wife, we kissed, and I felt a bit off. But anyway, she is my wife and Luna—I need to make her happy. The dance was called for, and we were meant to open the dance floor. "May I have this dance?" I asked. "Yes, my Alpha," she said with a smile. I remembered the first time I danced with her; I felt happy, and my heart kept beating very fast. Why am I not experiencing any of these signs while dancing with her now? Is it because I am expecting too much from her today, or is it because we got intoxicated that night? Well, I can't afford to ruin things. "Alpha, is everything okay?" she questioned. "Yes, everything is fine. I guess I am just too excited about today. Look at us—heroes and heroines of our packs. We brought peace," I decided to engage in a conversation, hoping it would help me. After the dance, we took our seats and watched others dance. I noticed the way the Beta of her father looked at her. Are they close or wh
Gabriella’s POV I sat down, waiting for the fourth bus heading South among strangers. It feels good to be among strangers; I can breathe freely, and no one will ridicule me or call me worthless. I know my absence won't be felt by my father, and he probably won't even inform my sister. I hope she enjoys her marriage. "Why are you running away, Gabriella? You should have at least told Alpha Nicklaus that you are pregnant with his child," Leah said to me. "Leah, I'm glad to hear your voice. But there's no point in telling someone who rejected me. I don't see the need." "Do you know anyone who lives in the South?" I remained calm for a moment. I really don't have anyone, and my fate lies with the moon goddess; I believe she will protect me. "I don't need to know someone there, Leah. I have some funds with me, and I'll be able to get an apartment and feed myself," I explained to my wolf. "What if you run out of money? What will you do then? How will you take care of the unborn child?"
Gabriella’s POV Waking up the following morning, I felt completely different—weak and in need of medical attention. Before I knew it, I rushed to the bathroom to throw up. After washing my face and looking in the mirror, I saw how pale I appeared. I ordered breakfast and, when it arrived, I asked the person who brought the food if she knew of a hospital nearby. She described one, but it would take about an hour to get there. I thanked her and prepared to visit the hospital after finishing my meal. I took a taxi to the hospital. Upon arrival, I saw a lady playing with her two-year-old daughter. Envy welled up in me, though I didn't regret having my child even with the absent father. I obtained a card and waited for the doctor. The doctor requested that I visit the lab for an ultrasound to determine the baby's age and study the fetus. I made the payment and was informed to return the following day on an empty stomach but well-hydrated. Leaving the hospital, I decided to take a brief t
Gabriella’s POV Awakening once again, I felt significantly better and noticed the same woman serving me a rice ball with a cup of fresh juice, “You must be hungry.” “You think I'm that stupid? Do you expect me to eat this? What if it's poisoned?” I questioned, as I don't trust anyone and won't let my guard down, having learned life's harsh lessons. “I see you have trust issues. I'll take a bite so you can see the food isn't poisoned,” she reassured, taking a bite. But I still doubted her, saying, “What if you took an antidote to the poison already?” “Hey, if I wanted to kill you, I would have done that while you were sleeping or snapped your neck with my spells. How about that? Now eat, to replenish your strength.” “The name is Gabriella, and thank you.” “You're welcome. I will take care of you to ensure your daughter comes into this world at ease.” My eyes widened, “I have a daughter? How did you know?” “I am an elder witch, and I saw a vision of your baby. Enough talk, let me
Gabriella’s POV He has become more mature than he was four years ago, with longer hair and bangs that can cover half of his red pupils. I feel a little uneasy inside as his aura seems stronger. Fortunately, my wolf is not as excited about her mate as before. His arm muscles bulge, and his brows reveal a fierce expression. I even sense a terrifying aura of killing intent. As I watch the fight between them, he kills with ease. Now I guess the rumors about him ending his father's life for power might be true after all. I thought seeing him would make me feel different, but when I see him, I hate him more. He's just a black history that I don't wish to revisit again. I notice he gets carried away with the ones he is fighting, not seeing the impending danger from behind. I will save him because he is my twin sister's husband, and for no other reason attached to it. “Og lu an to ditol.” The Black wolf dies instantly along with the others. Then he turns around; I didn't get enough time to h
Nicklaus’s POV "Are you sure they took the hostages to this very forest? I feel it's a trap," I said to the Beta over the phone using my AirPods. "I don't really know what to say, Alpha. I just covered the northern area. I haven't seen anything strange yet." "Keep me posted on anything you come across and be careful as well. They started this war and they will regret what I will do after we rescue our members who got captured today." "Lethal, I feel this is an ambush." "I don't smell our pack members here. I can only sense some strange werewolves here— the black moon wolves. We have to be more vigilant," Lethal advised. I moved deeper into the forest and saw some footprints on the ground. I guess they are not far from here anymore. I should be able to find them. I smelled the leaves and noticed something strange here, and I am right. No captives are here. The Beta called me again saying, "They are here, just a few guards. They got here but I killed them all. Should I send some
Gabriella’s POV "Leave," I reiterated, my words resounding in his ears once more."That's the very thing I refuse to do again, mate. I refuse to leave and I don't want you out of my sight again.""Are you deaf? They can't be us. I am happily married. Do you want me to call my husband right now so you know I'm not lying?" I said it just to reinforce my lies.He scoffed, saying, "That would be a mistake if you do.""Alpha Nicklaus, are you trying to threaten me? If I bring my husband here, will you get rid of him and claim me as yours?"I knew he didn't love me; I was just trying to provoke him to leave. Four years ago, he had called me a useless Omega. If he was coming for me now, it was only for my sister. Or perhaps he wanted to establish a connection with my daughter, who bore a striking resemblance to him.I wouldn't let anyone take away what belonged to me anymore. He remained silent, and I continued, "Are you planning to do to my husband what you did to your father, so you can se
