FORTY NINE

LIAM’S POV:

I heard muffled sounds as I traced the sound to a room that was tightly locked.

I peeped inside the room through a small hole and saw Mia being tied up to a pole with bounded eyes and mouth.

“Bingo”

I looked around to see if there was anyone around and fortunately, there wasn't.

I looked at the locked door as I thought of ways to break the lock, but the lock looked unbreakable.

I tried pulling but failed woefully as the lock refused to break.

I sighed frustratingly as I peeped through the again and saw Mia struggling to untie the ropes.

I smiled inwardly. At least she's making an effort to escape and survive.

My eyes caught something when I was peeping through the door.

An open window. Maybe I can sneak in from there and save Mia.

Just then, I heard fast-approaching footsteps as I quickly found a hiding space.

“There's no way he will know where she is, so don't worry” I heard Riley’s voice echo through the silent and empty space of the building.
