Chapter 45

The officials in the presence didn't appreciate her arrival. Her identity as a human always became a debate in their mind. Even they expected Lucien to drive her away. Unexpectedly, Lucien only smiled warmly at her concern. He loved to see her features whenever she was worried for him.

Lucien gestured with his hands to come at him. Isabella stepped forward gently. Unexpectedly, Lucien dismissed all of them, finally getting relaxed by her presence,

" You all can go now! I will settle down this matter today!"

The officer all grunted internally before leaving with a poker face. They all thought that Isabella was putting an act only to show her importance. As soon as they were gone, Isabella turned her head away to ask him again with a pout,

" You didn't answer me! What's going on?"

Lucien replied with a heavy sigh, playing with her curls,

" A wolf is killing people in the mortal world. Our race would be questioned if It didn't stop. However, our tropes aren't able to find the creature!"
