Chapter Eighty-Eight.

The car tyre rovered upon a speed bump, causing Joan to jerk forward and inadvertently drifting her out of her thoughts. She fastened her hands against her thighs as she looked out of the windows.

“Are you alright?” Seeing the arch between her brows, Theodore asked.

It was almost as if he could sense the tension brewing behind the tightly shut windows. She threw her head upon her shoulders to look back at him. And with one hand around the steering wheel, he spared a second for them to lock eyes.

“I’m just a little bit nervous. I mean what if she wants nothing to do with me and i just end up ruining her new family?” Joan asked, a little berserk and Theo scoffed. “I’ve watched enough movies to validate my worries, Theo” She harkened, rolling her eyes to the back of her head.

The moment his eyes darted back to the roads, the smirk across his lips seemed to vanish and just then he heaved a deep breath. “You’ll be alright” Theodore croaked and her eyes caught the ‘Welcome to LA’ sign boar
