They stayed silent for a moment, enjoying the closeness between them, before Claire spoke again, "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Not particularly," he answered.

She nodded in understanding and moved to stand up, "OK. Let me know if you change your mind though."

"Will do," he replied.

"Bye, then," she smiled. She leaned forward and gave him a quick peck on his lips.

"Bye," he repeated.

With that, she left him alone with his thoughts.

An hour later, Jake was still sitting on the couch, lost in thought. He sighed heavily, trying to clear his thoughts. But no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get rid of that nagging feeling that there was something that he needed to deal with.
