Chapter 144: A Heavy Blow

The police officers who arrived were clearly in cahoots with the man in the suit. They didn't ask any questions and immediately took out handcuffs as they walked toward us.

Antoninus looked at the handcuffs in their hands, squinting his eyes slightly. There was even a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth, as if he were pondering something. I had no idea what was going on in his mind.

I had no choice but to run to the front and stop the police officers. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"We're arresting those who are causing disturbances, miss. Is there anyone else among you?" one of the officers replied.

"Yes! She was the first one to resort to violence!" the man in the suit shouted.

"I didn't!"

This guy was really pushing it! He was falsely accusing me!

The leading officer, a chubby man, shrugged and jingled the handcuffs in front of me. Muscles on his face twitched as he spoke, "Well, in that case, you'll have to come with us."
