My mouth dropped, perhaps I didn't hear what he said. “I said the kids are yours. I mean Ella—”
“Hush, Danielle. I know of it and I have waited so long for you to tell me why and how it happened. It's a mystery that I want to discover.”
I almost lost touch with reality. It took me a lot of courage to walk up to him and tell him the kids were his and he just told me he knew all along. If he knew all along, why didn't he tell me? Why didn't he ask me about it at all and why didn't he tell me he knew?
He must have read my thoughts. “The day I gave Ella blood, the nurse warned me and told me to try doing a DNA test. She insisted that Ella looked like me too much and I should just try it.
