  Sean stepped in front of her and stood face to face with her. He was too close. Vera felt flustered.

\"I’ve taken my child to school,” she began again. “It will be her last day today—\"

With his back facing the elevator buttons, Sean pressed the close button.

\"I’ll give you one last chance.\" Sean spoke bitterly. His eyes were as deep as ink, making her feel confused.

Vera answered decisively without even thinking about it. \"Mr. Qiao, my choice is the same as yesterday.\"

She was quite sure that her choice was right. Only by staying away from Sean can she stay away from Judith Song. This way, she can forget the pain she’d inflicted on her four years ago.

\"You’ll come back soon enough.\"

Sean’s cold eyes shot Vera, his tone like ice revealing an aura of danger.

Sean turned around and struck the elevator buttons hard. The door opened and he left angrily.
