Marching the Aisle

She changed into her outfit an hour later, which included a full-body skirt and a deep V-neck bodice with exquisite details. Waiting at the rooftop garden's entrance with her father in her wedding gown, Izabella tried not to worry about bad omens as her dreams kept coming to mind. Instead, she focused on the grand arrangement of the setting, especially the aisle she would be walking through, surrounded by white orchids.

It was an excellent day. She could probably see any passing spacecraft since the sky was so brilliant if there was even one!

Ugh. On my wedding day, I thought of the insane notion of the galaxy, Izabella mused. She and her Aleksander would tie the knot in front of their family and a few nearby acquaintances in seconds. Then came her mind's egotism and irrational thoughts. She prayed that the peace she felt in the man's company would endure.

She felt her father's hand gently caressing her hand. She glanced at her father's profile. He returned her sight with a smile.
